Overthinking Overpreparing and Overcatastrophising

This isn’t a glitch, its a feature. We do these “over” strategies because its adapted to our fast paced, every expanding world where every day was an opportunity for optimization, and by not optimizing, we’re falling further and further behind from a race that continues to get further and further away from us. In order to be a _____ we do need to have started yesterday, in order to accomplish the goals that we desire, we get further behind every day where we could be moving forward. What we’re realizing, and thus what were preparing for, is actually true, in a very literal sense, but its those that can either push through this towering weight, or those that don’t see it, that tend to actually work towards the goals that we all wish we could.

This is an adaptation, one that is healthy in terms of observable outcome, but one that is catastrophic for our inner stressed, anxious, and depressed worlds. Whether we continue to value and strive towards creating tangible outcomes, or we retreat and focus on the inner intangible outcomes of peace and acceptance is a constant struggle without any real answer. whether we work on one (push) or the other (pull) is never going to be right or wrong for everyone, but the experience of doing so IS INDEED a matter of perspective. Curiosity takes away the need for the right answer, and instead prioritizes the openness to it. If we need the answer to be work, or balance, or focus on self, than we begrudge that it takes away from the opposite, but removing the need, and focusing on what is, or what would help, or what we want, and removing the judgement of direction, we open ourselves to a more true sense of balance, fairness, and optimization. It may not be what we expected it to be, but living in our reality is better than begrudging our fantasy.
